Keynote Speaker

Heidi Murphy, Executive Chef & Co-Owner of Osprey

Tribe Called Zest was born over a kitchen table, leading to the creation of El Segundo—a vibrant, fusion-driven restaurant focused on bold flavors and exceptional service in Sechelt. When COVID hit, they launched Chef’s Boot Camp, mentoring young apprentices in the restaurant industry. Heidi’s journey wasn’t easy—after losing multiple family members, she spent years as a caregiver, struggling to hold a job. When she finally built her dream restaurant, she understood the challenges of entering the workforce with no experience or confidence. That’s why mentoring young workers became so important—because sometimes, all someone needs is a place to start.

Panelist Speakers

Darnelda Siegers, Mortgage Broker & Former Mayor District of Sechelt

Success, for Darnelda, is rooted in relationships—family, community, and clients. As an elected official, she adapted by welcoming others into her business to ensure strong client support. Licensed in Alberta and BC, she embraced technology early, allowing her to serve clients remotely while maintaining the personal connections that matter most.

Jessica Marola-Hugh, StoryWell Marketing Inc

Jessica’s journey wasn’t linear—she built her business while raising four kids, learning resilience, and redefining success. Through StoryWell Marketing, Jessica helps founders craft authentic, impactful brands. Innovation is adaptation, and owning your brand means claiming your space, not waiting for permission.

Kimberly Flear, Last Call Coaching

For over 20 years, Kimberly thrived in hospitality—until burnout and substance use nearly broke her. After losing a friend to overdose, Kimberly founded Last Call Coaching to challenge industry norms around mental health and addiction. Now, she helps businesses create stigma-free, supportive workplaces, knowing that prioritizing well-being saves lives.
