SD46 is asking for  your help in suggesting businesses on the coast or off the coast as the placement can be virtual that would support students learning and skill development.

The database is Canadian and the information will be used by the Work Experience teacher during the intake interview to share the opportunities in the career area the students has identified or wanting to explore.

There are students that want to learn job ready skills in a supportive environment as well and these placements are also needed.

A brief description of 2-3 tasks students will complete on the job site.

Plus please let me know if there are any pre-requisites like steel toed boots, WHIMIS certification, First Aid certifications, criminal record check

What will come next?

The information will be put into the data base and once there is a match with a student you will receive a call from a teacher just to confirm that you are still interested and the timing is good for the business.

The students really benefit by the local business allowing them to experience the environment and day to day tasks before they continue into a job and or post-secondary school.

I look forward to hearing from you and if you have any questions please email or call me.

Warm Regards,

Cathy Gordon
